Student facing charges after in-school incident

Battlefords RCMP say one student is facing charges and another may face charges after an incident at North Battleford Comprehensive High School in which a third student was injured.

"There is an open investigation still ongoing on this matter," RCMP told the News-Optimist in an email Friday. "At least one youth is currently facing charges with possibly a second youth having charges pending. Police were made aware of the incident immediately after it was stopped by staff."

The incident occurred Wednesday and video of the incident began circulating by social media the same day.

Principal BruceFriesen says the school is unable to comment on the matter.
