Two arrested in human trafficking investigation

Two men are facing charges following an investigation by the Saskatoon Police Service VICE- Human Trafficking Unit. At approximately 8 p.m., June 29, patrol officers responded to a domestic complaint in the 200 block of Willis Crescent.

Two men are facing charges following an investigation by the Saskatoon Police Service VICE- Human Trafficking Unit.

At approximately 8 p.m., June 29, patrol officers responded to a domestic complaint in the 200 block of Willis Crescent. It was reported that a 23-year-old woman had been held in a residence over a period of time. After further investigation, Patrol members contacted the VICE-Human Trafficking Unit to assist. As the whereabouts of the men were not known at the time, warrants were issued.

At approximately 1 p.m., on July 2, members of the Guns and Gangs Unit attended to the 1500 block of Rayner Ave where both men were taken into custody without incident.

A 23 year old Kindersley man is charged with trafficking persons, material benefit (trafficking), uttering threats (x 2), theft under $5000, breach of release order, and breach of conditional sentence order.

A 30 year old Saskatoon man is charged with trafficking persons, uttering threats, and breach of release order (x 2).
