Two men arrested after police raided a Prince Albert home where they seized drugs and weapons made court appearances. One was released while the other was remanded in custody.
Cameron Alexander Morin, 26, appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Feb. 23 and remains in custody.
Kyle Crain, 29, was released after a Feb. 19 court appearance.
The Prince Albert Police Street Enforcement Team arrested the two Feb. 4 after executing a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of 7 Street East.
When police searched the home they found 45 grams of crack cocaine, more than 120 grams of meth and about eight grams of Psilocybin. They also found $7,000 in cash, a loaded shotgun and ammunition, brass knuckles, a Tazer and bear spray.
Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) helped police in the investigation. SCAN units have tremendous power when investigating drug complaints. They can issue warnings, pursue the landlords and ask a court to issue a Community Safety Order to board up a property for 90 days.
Crain was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Morin was charged with numerous drug and weapons-related offences. In addition, he was charged with breach of probation and breach of court-ordered release conditions.
Morin has a trial in Prince Albert Provincial Court March 4 on previous charges of failing to stop for police, dangerous driving and failing to comply with release conditions. He appears next in court on the recent drug and weapons charges March 16.
Crain is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court March 11.
