Two people have been charged after speeding in a stolen truck and fleeing police.
RCMP report that on Thursday, Jan. 3 at approximately 9:50 a.m., Saskatchewan Highway Patrol attempted to stop a stolen 2013 white Dodge pickup truck for excessive speed. The truck failed to stop then fled to a rural area north of Waseca.
A release from RCMP states the truck was located and became stuck in a wooded area behind a residence. After a short foot pursuit a male and female were apprehended by two members of the Saskatchewan Highway Patrol.
Maidstone RCMP assisted with the investigation and have charged 28-year-old Dale Starchief with the criminal offences including possession of stolen property over $5,000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, flight from police, obstruction and resisting arrest.
Starchief remains in custody and will be appearing in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Feb. 7 for a show case hearing.
Twenty-year-old Misty Moosomin has been charged with criminal offences including possession of stolen property over $5,000 and flight from police. Moosomin remains in custody and will be appearing on Jan. 17 in Lloydminster Provincial court for a show case hearing.
