Two suspects accused of stealing a Dodge Ram in Unity on Nov. 25 were in Provincial Court Monday in North Battleford.

Joshua Blair Turner, 36, of Sherwood Park, Alta., is accused of stealing the motor vehicle, possessing stolen property, failing to pull over, operation of a motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public, mischief counts of damage to a street sign and trespass, and possession of a stolen driver’s licence. He also faces a breach count from Nov. 25 in Wilkie.

Travis Neal Wite, 47, of Edmonton, Alta., is also accused of stealing a Dodge Ram, possession of stolen property, mischief counts of street sign damage and trespass, break and enter with intent to a garage, and possession of bear spray for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.

Both were remanded to appear again in court Tuesday.

Wilkie RCMP received a complaint of a vehicle theft from a rural property in the RM of Round Valley east of Unity on Nov. 25 around 4:30 p.m. A 2017 Ram 3500 pickup truck was stolen from the property.

Members located the stolen vehicle driving in Wilkie on 7th Avenue and attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle failed to stop for members. The vehicle then drove into a street sign and the vehicle occupants fled on foot.

Both vehicle occupants were arrested a short time later without incident.

The recovered stolen vehicle sustained minor damage.
