Upate - Wanted man turns himself in to La Loche RCMP

UPDATE: On March 10, approximately 5:40 p.m., Nestor Herman turned himself in at the La Loche RCMP Detachment. He will make his first appearance in court at La Loche on Thursday, March 12, at 10 a.m.

UPDATE: On March 10, approximately 5:40 p.m., Nestor Herman turned himself in at the La Loche RCMP Detachment. He will make his first appearance in court at La Loche on Thursday, March 12, at 10 a.m.

BACKGROUND: On March 7, La Loche RCMP seized a number of firearms and ammunition from a residence in La Loche.

As a result of this seizure, Nestor Herman (born April 17, 1982) of La Loche has been charged with a number of Criminal Code offences including:

- Possession of firearms while prohibited

- Possession of ammunition while prohibited

- Possession of firearms with tampered serial numbers

- Unsafe storage of firearms

A warrant for the arrest of Nestor Herman was sworn on March 7, as it is believed that he has been avoiding contact with the RCMP with the intention of evading arrest.

The La Loche RCMP are seeking assistance from the public in locating Nestor Herman in order to bring him into custody and compel him to provincial court.
