Update - 27-year-old North Battleford man involved in firearm incident found at cabin

UPDATE 2: On Monday, Oct. 5, at approximately 2:30 pm, Stanley Mission RCMP located 27-year-old Brandon Holmes at a cabin a few kilometres from the community after allegedly stealing a boat and using the boat to flee the community.

UPDATE 2: On Monday, Oct. 5, at approximately 2:30 pm, Stanley Mission RCMP located 27-year-old Brandon Holmes at a cabin a few kilometres from the community after allegedly stealing a boat and using the boat to flee the community. Holmes was taken into custody without incident.

Holmes is facing several charges including two counts of break and enter, assault, carrying a concealed weapon and discharging a firearm with intent. He is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Oct. 8.

UPDATE 1: The suspect has been located and is in custody. The RCMP thanks the public and the media for their assistance.

BACKGROUND: Early this morning around 2:30 a.m., Stanley Mission RCMP were called to a residence in Stanley Mission for a complaint of an adult male involved with a firearm incident.

Officers responded and searched the residence, but the male could not be located.

Initial investigation has led officers to identify the male as being, 27-year-old Brandon Holmes of North Battleford. Officers believe he may still be in the area.

Holmes is described as being approximately 5’6” tall with a stocky build.  He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Officers are actively searching the community and surrounding areas.

If you see Brandon Holmes, do not approach him, and call 911 immediately.
