UPDATE: Michael Joseph Petit was taken into custody Friday by Dillon RCMP.
His next court appearance will be Monday, June 22, at 10 a.m. in La Loche.
RCMP say “Thanks to everyone involved for their assistance in this matter.”
BACKGROUND: Michael Joseph Petit has been wanted by the La Loche RCMP since November 11, 2019. He has an outstanding arrest warrant for Breach of a Conditional Sentence Order as per Section 742.6 of the Criminal Code.
Members of the La Loche Detachment have been trying to locate and arrest Michael Joseph Petit so that he can be brought before a judge.
Mr. Petit has been actively evading police.
He is believed to be residing in Buffalo Narrows and has been travelling back and forth to La Loche.
Michael Joseph Petit is described as follows:
- 44 years old,
- 6.0 feet tall, 240lbs,
- Short dark hair,
- Normally wears a moustache,
- Tattoo of barbwire on right wrist, tattoo that says “Isaiah” on his left arm, tattoo “Hunter” on the left side of his chest.
The La Loche RCMP are requesting assistance from the public in this matter.
