UPDATE 2: Matthew Michel, an inmate who escaped from the Regional Psychiatric Centre, has been arrested by the RCMP.

The Saskatoon Police wish to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this investigation. Their help was greatly appreciated.

UPDATE 1: Kendal Lee Campeau was arrested without incident at approximately 1:45 a.m., on Nov. 14, at a residence in the 500 block of Douglas Crescent by members of the Guns & Gangs Unit, with the assistance of Patrol and Canine.

Matthew Shaundel Michel remains at large.

The Saskatoon Police Service would like to thank the media and community for the large number of timely, accurate, and detailed tips that were received in the hours leading up to the arrest. 

BACKGROUND:At approximately 8:40 p.m. on Nov. 13, two inmates escaped from the Regional Psychiatric Centre, located in the 2500 block of Central Avenue. Both inmates are considered violent. 

The inmates are:

Kendal Lee Campeau, age 29, 5'9", 157 lbs, large neck tattoo from ear to ear, dressed all in white

Matthew Shaundel Michel, age 24, 5'5", 146 lbs, dressed all in black

Residents in the area are encouraged to call if they observe any suspicious persons in the area, and to ensure that their premises and vehicles are secure, including removing any spare keys that may be left in the vehicle.
