Vehicle stolen from Cut Knife involved in bear spray release and gas-and-dash

Saskatoon police are investigating after a man deployed bear spray inside a gas station yesterday morning. The suspect was riding in a vehicle stolen from Cut Knife. Saskatoon Police Services has issued a release stating that at approximately 7 a.m.

Saskatoon police are investigating after a man deployed bear spray inside a gas station yesterday morning. The suspect was riding in a vehicle stolen from Cut Knife.

Saskatoon Police Services has issued a release stating that at approximately 7 a.m., Oct. 30, a man entered a gas station in the 1600 block of Idylwyld Drive North to purchase cigarettes. When told that they didn’t carry the particular brand requested, the man deployed bear spray before fleeing into the passenger seat of a waiting black Jeep Wrangler. The vehicle was last seen travelling northbound on Idylwyld Drive.

The employee was not injured.

The same vehicle was later involved in a gas-and-dash, at approximately 7:30 a.m., at a store in the 1300 block of Central Avenue.

The Jeep had been reported stolen from Cut Knife on October 29.

The male suspect who deployed the bear spray is described as being approximately 20-years-old, 5'9" in height with a thin build. He was wearing a black and red plaid button up jacket, a white hoodie, dark grey sweat pants and a bright blue toque.
