A woman arrested by the North Battleford RCMP gang unit failed to appear in court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Cassandra Fox, 24, was scheduled to enter a plea and election in North Battleford Provincial Court on Jan. 6.

Fox was arrested on Dec. 6 after several RCMP detachments teamed up to locate and arrest Jonathan Swiftwolfe, 26. At the time of her arrest last month, Fox was wanted on warrants for assault with a weapon and failure to comply with a release order.

Fox and Swiftwolfe were arrested on Highway 40, near Sweet Grass First Nation. Swiftwolfe had evaded police since North Battleford RCMP charged him for breaching his probation conditions on April 18, 2020. When police arrested Swiftwolfe, they found a loaded firearm in the vehicle within his reach.

Swiftwolfe is facing more than 35 charges. He had another show cause hearing on Jan. 6 but wasn’t released on bail. His bail hearing was adjourned in North Battleford Provincial Court to Jan. 14.

The charges against Fox and Swiftwolfe haven’t been proven in court.
