Woman wanted in Laverdiere case arrested

An arrest has been made of the individual who was wanted by police in the Tiki Laverdiere murder investigation.

An arrest has been made of the individual who was wanted by police in the Tiki Laverdiere murder investigation.

Saskatchewan RCMP confirm that Nikita Sandra Cook of Onion Lake First Nation was arrested by Edmonton Police Service without incident, in the city of Edmonton.

Cook is charged with first degree murder and kidnapping. She will make her first court appearance in Provincial Court in North Battleford on Monday, Aug 19, at 9:30 a.m.

Police also say the investigation is still ongoing under direction of the RCMP Major Crimes Unit North. To date, eight people have been charged in the case, with five charged with first degree murder.
