Abe Readman was shocked when he checked his Lotto Max ticket and discovered he had won $100,000 on the Aug. 27 Extra draw.

“I was on my lunch break and decided to check my ticket,” he said. “I looked up the numbers online and noticed my Extra number matched six numbers.”

“I was stunned,” he continued. “I thought, ‘Who am I going to tell first? I have to tell my wife!’”

The happy winner told his wife the good news by sending a picture of the ticket. When she didn’t respond within a few seconds, Readman decided to call her instead.

“I said, ‘Honey, I won $100,000 on Extra!’” he said. “But she didn’t believe me. Even though I sent her a picture of the ticket, she still couldn’t believe it!”

The happy winner and his wife plan to put their winnings toward bill payments and ensuring their child is set up for the future. They also have a bucket list idea in mind.

“It would be pretty amazing to attend an NHL game,” he said.

Readman purchased his winning ticket at Gas Plus, located at 265-32 Street West in Prince Albert. He matched the last six out of seven digits of the winning EXTRA number – 1637405 – to win his prize.
