24 cases of COVID-19 among Saskatchewan children and youth

As of Thursday’s weekly COVID-19 report, there are 24 active cases among children and youth of Saskatchewan. None of these are in the North or Far North zones. Thirteen of the cases are in the Saskatoon zone and five are in the Regina zone.

As of Thursday’s weekly COVID-19 report, there are 24 active cases among children and youth of Saskatchewan. None of these are in the North or Far North zones.

Thirteen of the cases are in the Saskatoon zone and five are in the Regina zone.

There are three cases in the Central zone and another three in the South zone.

The report does not specify where the positive tests occurred, whether they were in a school or at a community testing site.

For the entire province, there are 24 active cases among children and youth. A total of 4,016 tests were administered from Sept. 14-20, and 6,106 have been performed since Sept. 7.  

These weekly reports will be published Thursdays.They will monitor the trends of COVID-19 cases in school-aged children, and report of cases and testing numbers for children aged 0-19 with data by age categories and testing positivity rates. Data is provided by 32 sub-zones to help the public more easily identify areas where virus activity may be more prevalent.  Information is not specific to schools, but schools with a declared outbreak will be posted at https://www.saskatchewan.ca/government/health-care-administration-and-provider-resources/treatment-procedures-and-guidelines/emerging-public-health-issues/2019-novel-coronavirus/latest-updates.

The Ministries of Health and Education are working closely with the Saskatchewan Health Authority and school divisions to monitor COVID-19 developments within schools and local communities. Parents will be advised if a COVID-19 related risk is identified.

COVID-19 activity in schools will usually reflect the background-level of COVID-19 in communities, so it is important to pay close attention to local COVID-19 activity.

In all ages, in the Battlefords, including a population of 24, 279, there are no active cases and no new cases.

In North West 3, there is one active case and no new cases. North West 3 includes the communities of Big Shell; Cut Knife; Denholm; Echo Bay; Hafford; Krydor; Landis; Leoville; Maymont; Medstead; Richard; Ruddell; Scott; Shell Lake; Speers; Spiritwood; Unity and; Wilkie.

In North West 2, there is one active case and no new cases. North West 2 includes the communities of  Denzil; Lashburn; Lloydminster; Macklin; Maidstone; Marsden; Marshall; Neilburg; Paynton; Primate; Senlac and; Waseca;
