There is another local improvement project in the works for the town of Battleford.
This one would be on 3rd Avenue from 35th and 36th Street. The project cost is budgeted at $65,000 for the rebuilding of that portion of the avenue, which administration describes as in poor condition.
The intention is to resurface that portion. The town would fund 60 per cent of the project with property owners funding the remaining 40 per cent as a local improvement.
At council’s Monday meeting, council voted in favour of directing administration to prepare a report in accordance with the Local Improvements Act, 1993, respecting the proposed local improvement.
Mayor Ames Leslie said to reporters that more information will be released to residents in the area about the project. They can contact Town Hall if they have any questions. The hope at City Hall is to do the project this summer.
