A Taste of Culture: festival of multicultural food

A Taste of Culture began Friday and continues Saturday, offering a dozen cultural food experiences, plus entertainment, a market place, silent auction, face painting and balloons. Opening at 11 a.m.

A Taste of Culture began Friday and continues Saturday, offering a dozen cultural food experiences, plus entertainment, a market place, silent auction, face painting and balloons.

Opening at 11 a.m. and running until 9, the event is presented by the Battlefords Immigration Resource Centre at the Western Development Museum.

Food offerings feature Hungarian, Dutch, two Filipino menus, Honduran, Indian, Chinese, First Nations, Ruthenian, Fijian, Ukrainian and Canadian. Entrance is free but bring cash for your food as each vendor takes its own payment. Prices range from $1 for Hungarian bacon bits to $11 for a Ukrainian combo plate.

Cultural entertainment will take place in the Summer Hall eating area, where there are also refreshments including pop, juice, coffee, tea, water, beer and wine are available.

The event opened Friday following a Citizenship Oath Ceremony at which 111 new citizens were sworn in.
