Four incumbents are back and one longtime former councillor is also back on following the council election in the town of Battleford on Monday.

According to the results from town hall, councillors Kevin Russell, Judy Pruden, Shelley Boutin-Gervais and Doug Laing all retained their seats in Monday's election. They will be joined by newcomer Alexis Christensen, as well as former longtime councillor David George who has 16 years of experience on council.

George made it onto council by a 13-vote margin over Ken Chartier, who was the first candidate out. Among the losers on Monday was 27-year councillor Gordon Yarde who finished ninth with 192 votes.

The winners join Mayor Ames Leslie on the next council; Leslie was acclaimed to a second term when nominations closed in October.
