Some Battleford residents may have noticed a variety of people performing public safety officer duties.
That’s because the town hasn’t hired a dedicated public safety officer yet.
According to Chief Administrative Officer John Enns-Wind, PSO duties have been performed by a combination of RCMP members, Deputy Fire Chief Geoff Thompson, and town staff, depending on the matter.
The town is conducting interviews for a new public safety officer but there’s currently no timeline for when a new public safety officer might be hired, Enns-Wind said.
