Battlefords and District Community Foundation announces $40,000 in local grants

Battlefords and District Community Foundation has announced it has awarded $40,000 in grants to four local charities to address needs due to COVID-19.

Battlefords and District Community Foundation has announced it has awarded $40,000 in grants to four local charities to address needs due to COVID-19.

The projects being funded are as followed:

$14,600 to CMHA Battlefords Branch for a virtual peer support project in conjunction with Saskatchewan Hospital;

$14,900 to Battlefords and Area Sexual Assault Centre, for partial funding for a Volunteer Coordinator position;

$5,500 to Battlefords Interval House, for equipment and supplies for a Mental Health Therapist; and

$5,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Battlefords, for youth mental health services.

These grants are part of the Emergency Community Support Fund, a $350 million fund funded by the Government of Canada  being implemented with Community Foundations of Canada, the Canadian Red Cross, and United Way Centraide Canada, in partnership with local foundations across the country.
