The civic election has been postponed in the city of Saskatoon due to this weekend's blizzard.

The blizzard conditions has made getting to the polls difficult in Saskatoon on Monday. As a result, the city has announced on its website that the returning officer is closing all polls today at 6:30 p.m., and that polling places will be open on Friday, Nov. 13 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. that day.

Saskatoon is not the only community to postpone its election due to weather. Swift Current, which was hard hit by Sunday's blizzard, announced earlier today it had postponed its election to Thursday, Nov. 12.
