The Capitol Theatre is back open for movies again after the province relented on some of its latest restrictions imposed on cinemas.

The restrictions announced Wednesday had prevented food and drink from the movie concessions from being taken into the cinemas to be consumed. But according to the Capitol, that restriction has been removed and they are now back open for movie showings effective immediately.

The following is the statement at the Capitol’s Facebook page:

“Great things have happened today!!

The powers that be spoke with the other powers that be and said YES WE CAN STAY OPEN!! AND YES YOU CAN ENJOY POPCORN WHILE WATCHING A MOVIE.

We are open tonight and for as long as possible.

Doors open at 6:15.

For showtimes go to our website at www.magiclanterntheatres.ca

Thank you all for the positive words and support and we look forward to seeing you at the movies.”
