Budget deliberations are coming soon for North Battleford, and at Monday night’s council meeting some dates were agreed to.
Four nights have set aside for budget discussions. The first would be Dec. 3 which would be devoted to presentations from third-party groups seeking funding for the upcoming year. The next deliberation meetings would be on Dec. 7, Dec. 9 and also on Dec. 10 if additional time is needed.
The deliberations would cover the entire operations and capital budget for 2021. The goal would be to then bring the budget to council for possible approval at their regular meeting on Dec. 14.
As for the 2021 budget itself, director of finance Steve Brown indicated at council the budget document is expected to be in the hands of councillors this week, and that council should have a week to review the information in its entirety before deliberations begin.
