The City of North Battleford is introducing a paid parking lot in a prime downtown location, says a release from City Hall.

Referring to the new parking lot adjacent to the Capitol Theatre Annex, the city says, “This new parking lot provides quick and convenient access to businesses, at affordable hourly and daily rates.”

The release also states the City of North Battleford does not, at this time, have any plans to create other paid parking lots.

There is no fee to use the new parking lot downtown until Aug. 31. Starting on Sept. 1, the rate for the pay parking lot will be $1 per hour or $5 for all-day parking.

To use the pay parking lot, individuals must first park then make payment. Payments will be made at a machine where the licence plate number will be entered. Payment will be by credit card. Cash will not be accepted.

The release also states, the City of North Battleford is working with Crosby Hanna and Associates, who have engaged with residents and businesses, to develop a parking study for the downtown. The report is currently being developed by the consultant. An open house is tentatively planned to reveal the findings on Sept. 11 at the North Battleford Library.
