The City of North Battleford has officially proclaimed Aug. 20-26 as Battlefords Pride Week.
The proclamation was read at council Monday night by Mayor Ryan Bater.
Bater noted that Pride Week was kicked off with the raising of the rainbow flag at City Hall earlier that day. He also noted that members of Battlefords Pride then immediately started work on painting a rainbow crosswalk at 101st Street and 14th Avenue near the library.
On a related note, the city has voted to waive street closure and barricade rental fees for that rainbow crosswalk painting on Aug. 19.
