The city of North Battleford has announced that the Co-op Aquatic Centre will re-open on Aug. 5.

This news comes after the announcement by the province that indoor pools can re-open as of July 6 as part of Phase Four of Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan. However, the city had always planned to delay the re-opening of the aquatic centre to no earlier than August.

According to the city's news release Tuesday, the facility had been scheduled for extensive repair and maintenance work and the decision was made to move it up to this year to minimize the time it was closed to the public. That work is now under way.

It was also noted that the city's spray parks are open at Senator Herb Sparrow Park, Centennial Park and Kinsmen Park, daily from 9 am to 8 pm. COVID-19 guidelines are posted at those venues. More information about opening dates for other leisure facilities will be provided later on.
