Confirmed COVID-19 case at Onion Lake

Onion Lake Cree Nation has confirmed one case of COVID-19 at the First Nation. The news was released Thursday at their Facebook page.

Onion Lake Cree Nation borders Saskatchewan and Alberta. It is located about 50 kilometres north of Lloydminster.

The news was released Thursday at their Facebook page. According to their posting the Pandemic Committee has been dispatched and will start the containment process to ensure containment is done effectively and efficiently.

The plan is to update with any further information.

Onion Lake is currently under a curfew and a boundary lockdown in response to the pandemic. The curfew runs from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and included is a controlled-modified movement for essential services and membership leaving and coming back for work or supplies. The curfew and lockdown have been in place since March 25.
