Dutton Farms and the Dutton family are lending their support to a family member raising money for a great cause.

They are supporting Janna Dutton for “Rescue Janna!,” an initiative where Janna is raising money for the STARS Air Ambulance Rescue on the Prairie fundraising event.

“This is our daughter in law, she is a 100 per cent volunteer and hoping to get support from the farm community,” the Duttons said in a note to the News-Optimist. Any donation made “does not have to be a big amount but if you have interest I know she appreciates the support, either by attending an event &/ or a donation, made to RESCUEJANNA.com.”

Janna is a business owner of several Tim Hortons locations in Saskatoon. According to STARS’ website, Janna is one of several community leaders who on Sept. 5 will “trade in their business attire for flight suits, and climb onboard the STARS air ambulance helicopter for a unique mission. Each participant will compete to raise as much money as possible to earn a flight back to civilization, using the only tool they’ll have – their cell phones.”

In advance of that, Janna is holding a casual event at Drift Vista Lounge in Saskatoon, from 5 to 7 p.m. on July 18. Tickets are $45 and are tax deductible, and will raise money for her STARS fundraising effort; the event is listed at www.eventbrite.ca (search for “rescue Janna”).

Her page can be found at Rescuejanna.com. As of July 2 she had raised $28,979, which is 28 per cent of the way to her goal.

Dutton Farms is located off of Highway 16 between Lloydminster and the Battlefords at the junction of the Paynton Ferry.
