Former North Battleford businessman Harry Bondar has passed away. The funeral was held Monday at the Edmonton Jewish Cemetery.

Former North Battleford businessman Harry Bondar has passed away.

The funeral was held Monday at the Edmonton Jewish Cemetery.

Bonder, who married Ruth Caplan of North Battleford, bought Hunter's Sport Shop in 1946, turning it into the largest boat and RV centre in western Canada.

The Bondars relocated to Edmonton after a 1992 fire destroyed the main building of the business.

Bondar was born on April 7, 1922, to Robert and Jesse Bondar at Prince Albert. He and his wife Ruth, who passed away in 2007, had four children - Bobby, Blair, Debbie and Wendy - 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
