Métis Nation nominations are in

Nominations have now closed for the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan election on May 29.

Nominations have now closed for the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan election on May 29.

In a news release it was announced there were 20 nominations filed for four positions on the executive, and 34 nominations for 12 regional representative positions, including three candidates in district WR1A, which includes the Battlefords.

Two of the representative positions are acclaimed: Ryan Lee Carriere in ER1 and Marg Friesen in ER3.

The following candidates had their nomination accepted to run:

Election Day runs from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on May 29. Métis citizens will be eligible to vote in their regional returning office starting May 14 and im advance polls on May 22.
