Money talks

No, this was not “Talk with our kids about pizza.” This was actually called “Talk with our kids about money,” the national program where kids learn about financial literacy. This is the fifth year the program took place in schools in the Battlefords.

No, this was not “Talk with our kids about pizza.” This was actually called “Talk with our kids about money,” the national program where kids learn about financial literacy. This is the fifth year the program took place in schools in the Battlefords. The Battlefords Chamber of Commerce organized the local presentations to Grade 7 students in the Light of Christ School Division during the noon hour on Wednesday, with those happening at Holy Family and Notre Dame School in North Battleford. Derek Schmidt, seen here, was one of the volunteers from the chamber who helped out. The students enjoyed a pizza lunch and heard presentations from representatives from Scotiabank, who presented to students on the topic of “online banking, and online safety.” They also fielded questions from the students on topics such as credit cards, and how to open your own bank account.
