Jonathon Kadler, president of the North Battleford Part-time Fire Fighter Association, says the group has started up their second annual sandbag fundraiser.

“Just like last year, funds raised are donated back to an organization we will be deciding on at the end of the fundraiser,” says Kadler. “We will make the donation public.”

Each 50-pound sandbag is being sold for $5, and they can be delivered within the Battlefords. They also have wholesale pricing for businesses or individuals who wish to purchase more than 20 sandbags at a time.

Kadler says, “We could not do it without local businesses’ help. Ken & Terry's Construction has donated sand for the bags and K&K Glass has donated their business space for the making and sale of the bags along with a truck and trailer to haul sand and completed sandbags.”

Customers interested in purchasing sandbags and pick up at K&K Glass(1601 - 100th St.) or email nbparttimefirefighterassoc@hotmail.com to arrange delivery in the area of North Battleford and Battleford.

Last year’s fundraiser saw $1,000 donated to Battlefords Trade and Education Centre and $500 donated to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Battlefords.
