North Battleford warning people to be cautious around river

The City of North Battleford has issued a news release in which it is "strongly encouraging people to exercise caution on and by the North Saskatchewan River".

The City of North Battleford has issued a news release in which it is "strongly encouraging people to exercise caution on and by the North Saskatchewan River".

The city notes that the high flow and strong currents are posing a safety risk to people and pets.The city's release notes that riverbanks can be a serious risk and that the increased level and flow of water can erode and undercut the shore, which could cause parts of the riverbank to collapse into the river.

The news release also states the North Battleford Fire Department will continue to monitor the North Saskatchewan River. They also are reminding people 'to never underestimate the power of the river currents and the danger it poses."
