Premier Scott Moe make one last appearance in the Battlefords riding before election day on Sunday.

Moe was outside the Sask Party campaign office of Jeremy Cockrill on a chilly afternoon, just one day before voters go to the polls Monday. This was the third appearance for Moe in the riding since the election began; his previous appearances included a policy announcement on seniors initiatives at the campaign office and another appearance at Battleford Furniture on small business initiatives.

In his appearance Moe made his final pitch to voters, saying it came down to “who do you trust to recover the economy here in Saskatchewan.”

He continued to pitch Sask Party policies on affordability such as the renovation tax credit and reducing power bills, and reiterated his pledge to balance the budget by 2024. “This is in stark contrast to the NDP who have no plan to balance the budget,” said Moe.

Moe also urged people to support the local candidate Cockrill, and touted the government’s investments in the Battlefords including the new Sask Hospital and in John Paul II Collegiate renovations.

For his part Cockrill indicated the first priority if elected would be to follow through on the campaign promises.

“We have some great initiatives to make life more affordable in the province so we’re going to be following through on that plan that we’ve set out over the last 28 days,” said Cockrill.

When asked how things were looking for the party in the Battlefords race, Moe responded “things would look very good in the Battlefords if everyone gets out and votes for Jeremy Cockrill.”

When asked about the prospect of voters’ complacency, given the recent strong polling for the Sask Party, Moe said “there’s nothing in the bag.”

“There is going to be a poll conducted, it’s going to come at the conclusion of 8 p.m. tomorrow night,” said Moe. “That’s the poll that we have focused on.”

Following his appearance in the Battlefords Premier Moe returned to Shellbrook, in his Rosthern-Shellbrook constituency where he is seeking re-election. According to the party's news release, he plans to vote on Monday morning in Shellbrook and then await the returns with his family.

As for the NDP campaign, they were also in the Battlefords on Sunday. Leader Ryan Meili was in the riding where he met with party supporters late in the evening, following a full day of campaigning where the leader made stops in several ridings in Saskatoon and Prince Albert.
