Two new cases of COVID-19 have been reported this week from Living Sky School Division.

In a news release Nov. 16 the school division reported one individual had been diagnosed at McKitrick Community School in North Battleford, and one individual has also been diagnosed at North Battleford Comprehensive High School.

This is the second case in each school and because of that, outbreaks have been declared at both. Saskatchewan Health Authority describes an outbreak as when two individuals test positive for COVID-19 for that school.

The school division reported that all parents received notification and that the declaration is being posted at Saskatchewan.ca.

The school division states that Public Health has been contacting anyone who may have been in close contact with each individual case to provide direction. Following the division’s health and safety protocols, the schools have received a deep cleaning/sanitizing and will remain open at this time.

According to their news release, people are reminded that anyone entering schools should monitor for signs or symptoms of COVID-19. If you or your child have symptoms you are urged to call HealthLine at 811 and remain at home.
