The City of North Battleford has voted in favour of entering a five-year agreement with Access Communications for Wi-Fi at city recreational facilities, the Dekker Centre and City Hall.

An RFP had been issued in November with the contract awarded to Access for exclusive internet and telephone services in city facilities. Included was provision of wireless services to the public in city facilities.

According to city officials, Access will be providing free Wi-Fi to all users, not just their own customers, in those city facilities.

The city foresees no impact to the budget as a result of this decision. The city of North Battleford plans a news release once the Wi-Fi is operational.
