SaskTel is reporting that due to the widespread power outages caused by last night’s storm, they ares experiencing some service outages in a number of communities across the province.
A few communities are seeing limited service and SaskTel says it anticipates more services may fail as back-up battery power depletes if commercial power is not restored. Services impacts as of 9:00 a.m. include:
• West Central - Beechy, Herschel, Plenty, Dodsland - Homephone service (landline) down in these locations.
• Wireless sites around Saskatoon East and West Rural - Lucky Lake, Warman, Meacham, Danielson (Diefenbaker Lake) are without service.
• Moose Jaw, Weyburn, Estevan – Some maxTV and internet services may be down.
At this point, SaskTel reports there is no estimated time of return for these services and it is likely services may not be restored until the power has been fully restored in these areas.
