This was the scene Thursday outside the Blend restaurant as the Battlefords and Area Sexual Assault Centre held the annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. The annual fundraiser featured teams of men wearing high heels and walking down 100th Street, as a way to raise money for the Centre and promote awareness of the issue of sexual assault. Strict COVID-19 protocols were in effect, with participants wearing masks at the event.
A number of local notables were on hand to walk in high heels including Mayor Ryan Bater and Councillor Kent Lindgren, head coach Brayden Klimosko and members of the Battlefords North Stars, as well as members of the RCMP.
