Here are some additional matters from Monday’s town council meeting:

A letter from an annoyed resident made its way to council on Monday. The letter writer was frustrated at seeing dog feces all over the place.

A bylaw exists that punishes pet owners, but enforcement is possible if pets are caught in the act, Mayor Ames Leslie said.

The town received a letter from the Minister of Government Affairs Warren Kaeding, saying the education property tax mill rates remain unchanged from the 2017 and 2018 taxation years.

According to the letter, “some separate school divisions have chosen to set and levy their own education property taxes, and in those instances those rates will apply.”

Work on 2nd Ave between 30th Street and 35th Street is set to begin soon.

Sanburn Construction was the lowest bidder at around $253,000.

The price came in higher than expected, as council had allocated $244,000 for the project.

The project is set to begin shortly, and is planned to be completed by July 30.

Curb, gutter and paving work would take place afterwards.
