The Town of Battleford council meeting for Monday night, April 6, will go on as scheduled but in a new way.

The meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. is to be conducted by live stream video. According to the town’s website, this is a continuation of their efforts towards social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The meeting can be accessed by a video stream accessed at the town’s website at www.battleford.ca. The link on that site takes the viewer to Microsoft Teams which will be streaming the live event.

Other councils across Canada have also moved to a live streaming-conference call format in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. North Battleford is also planning to hold its council meeting remotely via live-streaming next week.

The town of Battleford had previously conducted its March 16 meeting at Alex Dillabough Centre in order to accommodate social-distancing measures.
