Three new deaths were reported Saturday in the daily COVID-19 update from the provincial government. Two deaths in the 80+ age group were from the North West zone, bringing the zone’s total deaths to 68.

Three new deaths were reported Saturday in the daily COVID-19 update from the provincial government. Two deaths in the 80+ age group were from the North West zone, bringing the zone’s total deaths to 68. The other death reported today was in the 60-69 age group from the Saskatoon zone.

There are 99 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on June 5, bringing the provincial total to 47,285 cases. Of those, 19 new cases brought the North West zone to a total of 119 active cases. There are 11 hospitalizations in the North West and a total of 4, 305 people have recovered.

Subzone 1 in the North West has 22 active cases. Subzone 2, which includes Lloydminster, has 52 cases. Subzoned 3 has 12 cases. Subzone 4, which is the Battlefords, has 33.

The vaccine drive-thru at 391 Yellowhead Highway west of Battleford is open Saturday and Sunday, June 5 and 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering the Pfizer vaccine while supplies last.
