Unifor, which represents nearly 3,000 workers at SaskTel, says the Scott Moe government has failed to secure a new collective agreement with yet another group of Crown corporation workers before the expiry of their agreement.

"Premier Moe is steering negotiations towards a province-wide service disruption," said Jerry Dias, Unifor national president in a release Saturday. "Crown workers have had enough. They're prepared to take a stand to defend high-quality Crown services."

Sasktel, SaskEnergy, SaskPower, SaskWater, the Saskatchewan Water Authority, Directwest and Securetek all have expired collective agreements.

Unifor maintains the government mandate of wage freezes and other concessions have stalled negotiations.

"Our Crowns deserve better," said Joie Warnock, Unifor Western Regional Director. "Negotiating a fair collective agreement for Crown workers is an investment in the health of Saskatchewan's public utilities."

The collective agreement between SaskTel and Unifor was set ti expire March 16.
