Wind chills of minus 40 or colder will return tonight for parts of southern Manitoba and southern Saskatchewan near the Manitoba border.

An Arctic ridge of high pressure continues to give frigid temperatures to the southern prairies. Temperatures in the minus thirties along with winds of 10 to 15 km/h are producing extreme cold windchills of minus 40 or colder. Some moderation will occur on this afternoon, but some regions may experience extreme cold again tonight and Wednesday morning.

Extreme cold will occur over much of southern Saskatchewan and southern Manitoba this morning.

Wind chills of minus 40 or colder will be felt over the southern Prairies this morning.

Temperatures in the minus thirties along with winds of 10 to 15 km/h will produce extreme cold windchills of minus 40 or colder this morning. Some moderation will occur on this afternoon, but some regions may experience extreme cold again tonight into Wednesday morning.

Wind chills of minus 40 or colder will be felt over the southern Prairies tonight and Tuesday morning.

An Arctic ridge of high pressure continues to give frigid temperatures to portions of central Saskatchewan and the southern half of Manitoba. Temperatures in the minus thirties along with winds of 10 to 15 km/h will produce extreme cold windchills of minus 40 or colder tonight and Tuesday morning. Some moderation will occur on Tuesday afternoon, but some regions may experience extreme cold again Tuesday night.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.

Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter.

Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

If it's too cold for you to stay outside, it's too cold for your pet to stay outside.

However, extreme cold will return for some areas tonight into Monday.

An arctic ridge of high pressure has allowed skies to clear and temperatures to plummet over central Saskatchewan, western Manitoba and Manitoba Interlake regions. Temperatures in the minus thirties along with winds of 10 to 15 km/h continue to produce extreme cold windchills of minus 40 or colder on Sunday morning. Temperatures are expected to moderate slightly by late morning.

Extreme cold will return for some areas on Sunday night into Monday, however increasing cloud cover will likely keep southernmost areas warmer.
