WDM’s 1953 Chev best vintage vehicle in parade

The winners have been announced for the Battleford Parade, which took place in the streets of Battleford Friday evening. In the auto-antique category the WDM was awarded first prize for its 1953 Chevrolet.

It was another outstanding Battleford Parade in downtown Battleford Friday night, with 22nd Street lined with people to see the parade of floats on display. The parade included antique cars, floats, and horse-drawn wagons. Mayor Ames Leslie and Battlefords MLA Herb Cox were seen riding on horseback on the parade route. The winners have been announced for the Battleford Parade, which took place in the streets of Battleford Friday evening.

In the auto-antique category the WDM was awarded first prize for its 1953 Chevrolet. The Battlefords Vintage Auto Club took second and third with a 1955 Oldsmobile and a 1929 International truck.

First prize in the non-commercial category went to the float of Saskatchewan Hospital. Battle River Treaty 6 finished second and Wilkie Museum third.

In the youth category the 1st North Battleford Girl Guides took top spot, Battleford Tot Lot second and Skate Battlefords third.

In the commercial category Discovery Co-op finished first, Tim’s Handyman Service second and Fort Battleford third.

Finally, in the horse wagon/buggy category Sunleigh Miniatures finished in first place, Ed Loewen was second and Charlie Edlin third.
