Highway 55 and grid roads closed northeast of Prince Albert: Use Highway 355

Due to the wildfire burning northeast of the city of Prince Albert, Highway 55 is closed from Meath Park to Prince Albert in both directions.

Motorists who planned to enter Prince Albert from the north using Highway 55 will have to use Highway 355 West at Meath Park and Highway 2 South.

Avoid all major grid roads between Highways 55 and 355, they are closed and being used by emergency agencies to transport equipment and water.

Residents of the Cecil Ferry area can use the Ferry to evacuate the area and access Prince Albert.

Road closures are expected to last at least until Wednesday evening.

If power or communications outages occur, residents of the area in need of policing services will have to physically go to the Prince Albert RCMP Detachment located at 150, 15th Street NW in Prince Albert.
