The North Saskatchewan River Municipal Health Holdings administrator gave board members a report on a physicians' meeting held in April and May, when the board met May 12.

Items discussed were continuing issues with the electronic medical records program, physician recruitment, Rapid Process Improvement Workshop in Turtleford and a medical student requesting internship under the organization's physicians over the summer. The physicians have agreed to mentor the medical student and she will be part of the clinic team this summer.

Prairie North Health Region has hired nurse case manager, Cassie Bernard. This is a temporary part-time position to assist the physicians in managing patient charts and also clean up of histories on the EMR. The staff has also identified areas in the EMR that they would be able to organize to make the patients charts more readable for the physicians.

PNHR has also hired a nurse practitioner for NSRMHH. Annette Robinson will be starting in July for orientation and will spend the first couple months in Turtleford clinic in order to access mentorship from the physicians.

PNHR and NSRMHH are in the process of working through the documentation for a new physician and anticipate her arriving sometime later in the summer.

The Lakeland Community Advisory Network and NSRMHH hosted a farewell tea for Dr. Dandugula and his family June 12 at the Riverside facility. Dr. Dandugula and his family were wished all the best in their new life in Calgary.
