Dee Wah’s morning routine took a positive turn when he checked his March 29 LOTTO MAX ticket and discovered he had won $100,000 on the EXTRA draw.

“I go buy myself a coffee every day before work,” he said. “I had just finished my coffee and was about to go on my way to work, when I thought I would check my LOTTO MAX ticket.”

“I gave the ticket to the store clerk to check,” he continued. “I thought she told me we won $10,000, and I was really happy about that.”

Instead of continuing to work, Wah went straight home to tell his wife, Lay Lay Naw, the good news.

“I walked in the door, handed her the win receipt, and said, ‘We won the $10,000 on the lottery!’” he continued. “My wife looked at the receipt and counted the zeros. She said, ‘We won $100,000, not $10,000!’”

“We were both so happy,” he said. “I could feel my heart jumping around with excitement!

The happy winners said they haven’t made any plans for their winning just yet, but hope to put their winnings toward home renovations and bill payments.

Wah purchased the $6 winning ticket at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 20-2410 22nd Street West. The winners matched the last six digits of the winning EXTRA number – 2493480 – to win their $100,000 prize.
