P.A. man facing drug and weapons charges seeking bail

A bail hearing for a Prince Albert man facing several drug and weapons-related offences was adjourned. Kevin Ackegan, 40, has already had five show cause hearings scheduled in Prince Albert Provincial Court since his arrest on.

A bail hearing for a Prince Albert man facing several drug and weapons-related offences was adjourned. 

Kevin Ackegan, 40, has already had five show cause hearings scheduled in Prince Albert Provincial Court since his arrest on.

During a traffic stop in February, Prince Albert Police searched Ackegan’s vehicle and found two firearms and ammunition, a machete, a knife, bear spray, hydromorphone, methamphetamine, and Gabapentin pills. They also found Jamaican, U.S. and Canadian currency. 

The Crown is proceeding by way of indictment against Ackegan, which is the more serious charge than summary conviction. 

Ackegan has another show cause hearing scheduled for July 6 in Prince Albert Provincial Court.
