Susan Thatcher and Don Connolly were shocked when their LOTTO MAX ticket won $100,000 on the April 19 EXTRA draw.

“I checked the ticket on the mobile app, and I was stunned,” said Connolly. “Susan was sleeping at the time, so I woke her up to show her the screen.”

Thatcher said she didn’t believe the win at first.

“I didn’t believe what I was seeing,” she said. “We took the ticket to the store and asked the store clerk to scan the ticket for us.”

“Well, I went to the store,” she laughed. “Don was too anxious to come inside. I gave him a thumbs-up once it was confirmed as a winner.”

The long-time friends said they both have a couple ideas for their shares of the win.

“I was thinking of getting a new vehicle, maybe a guitar,” said Connolly.

“More than anything, this will just make things a little easier for the both of us,” said Thatcher.

Connolly purchased their winning ticket at Circle K Convenience, located at 3730 Diefenbaker Drive in Saskatoon. The winning EXTRA selection was 5618218 – Connolly and Thatcher matched the last six digits to win the game’s second-top prize.
