Bus barn comes through for travellers

Dear Editor

Bringing soon-to-be tour buses on a 4,300-mile (five-and-a-half day) journey from the east coast to Juneau, Alaska proved to be an adventure.

With temperatures ranging from -38 to -35 F, we had a breakdown of one of the only things we were not prepared for — an EGR and DPF sensor failure.

It is important to note, there are sometimes hundreds of miles of empty roads between towns in Canada. The small town of North Battleford, Sask. was where we limped into.

We found the only place in this small town that might have the parts we needed, the bus barn of Living Sky School Division. Not only did they have the parts needed, they installed the parts for free (although we insisted on paying) and entrusted us to drive 1.5 hours to buy and send the part back to them.

I would like to sincerely and publicly thank the bus barn, and Bill, for all their help. I hope you come to see us in Juneau and let us repay the favour.
