The recent verdict an in North Battleford is a judicial disgrace not only as a failure of justice but it is an embarrassing result of Canadian colonial history and current culture. Is it not time for all of us from immigrant stocks to take responsibility for the past genocidal treatment of indigenous peoples and just stop punishing them and killing them for behaviours that our culture has great responsibility for creating?
